Alliance for the Restoration of Democracy Chairman Makhdoom Amin Fahim, who is also president of Pakistan Peoples Party Parliamentarians, has said that PPPP would bring its leader Benazir Bhutto back to Pakistan with honour and dignity and that people would be informed of this decision to be taken by the party.
He was speaking at a reception given in his honour by Dr Qadir Magsi, the chairman of Jeay Sindh Taraqi Pasand Party, here on Saturday evening.
Amin Fahim said it was misfortune of Pakistan that there has been dictatorship for long time here and even today " we are passing through a dictatorial era."
The PPPP president said we have witnessed the historical rigging in last local bodies elections and added that the present ruling set up was also a result of rigging, horse trading and use of force in which minority was turned into majority.
He said Chaudhry Shujaat no doubt is the political leader and has remained in jails but at present the rights of people have been suppressed under him.
Amin Fahim assured that he would bring the issues of Sindh to platform of ARD as well as to the notice of party leadership. He asked people to join hands for restoration of 1973 Constitution.
To a question about 1973 Constitution which the questioner said had failed to protect rights of Sindhis, he said it was not a divine book. "With passage of time the constitutions are amended but it would be only be done when we have representative government."
To another question about passport issued to Nawaz Sharif family, the ARD chairman said, "he welcomes the decision."
He said there was need to reorganise PPPP. Dr Qadir Magsi on the occasion said that until the rights of small federating units were not restored in accordance with 1940 Resolution and full autonomy not granted to them even democracy would not be viable in Pakistan.
He welcomed ARD chairman's visit to his office and said history was being written that federal parties have started to feel the grievances of Sindh.
Magsi said Sindhi nationalists were not against Pakistan "but we want our provincial rights which were guaranteed when we joined the country."
