The Commercial Court headed by Justice Syed Nasir Ali Shah dismissed a petition filed by Export Promotion Bureau (EPB) against Padana Gloves, as the petitioner failed to produce the survey report of any recognised company against the Padana Gloves.
The court also cancelled the surety bonds submitted by Padana Gloves Chief Executive Bashir Padana, as the petitioner also failed to prove charges against him.
Earlier, Malik Bilal Zia counsel for the Padana Gloves contended before the court that the petition against his client is not maintainable, as the petitioner, EPB, has filed the petition on the basis of a fake complaint lodged by a foreign company.
It was contended that the respondent company has been serving the nation for the last two decades and earning millions of rupees as foreign exchange. It was prayed to dismiss the petition for being not maintainable.
A deputy director EPB appeared before the court, and informed that there is neither any evidence nor any negative survey report of any recognised company against the respondent.
He prayed to the court to allow the EPB to withdraw its petition. The court, after hearing the EPB official, dismissed the petition as withdrawn.
