Sialkot police have badly failed to control traffic in the city and other highly busy junctions, causing total traffic chaos, road accidents and traffic jams.
It is due to lack of management by the traffic police that roads remain blocked in the presence of police and drivers of passenger wagons remained busy in pick and drop in the middle of roads.
It had been observed that most of the policemen, deputed for controlling and channelling the traffic fund, busy in eating and smoking instead of discharging their duties.
The Sialkot police had surrendered to the transporters, as result of which coaches, buses and wagons, plying on different routes, blocked roads just for picking or dropping the passengers in peak hours.
Roads at Pul Aik area, Kutchery Road, Abbot Road, Paris Road, Lorry-Adda and Kashmir remain stuck up for long during peak hours, but there is no policeman to handle the situation.
There are many so-called "one ways" in most busy roads of the city, but the police itself are seen violating the one-way traffic rules. In most parts of the city, traffic signals had been installed, but most of them are out of order, while the timing of these signals are not correct.
It has also been witnessed that a large number of underage children are plying the "Chand Geris" without licence, while some handicapped and physically unfit persons were also plying the rickshaws, but police never make an effort to check this violation.

It has also been observed that many old and unfit wagons are being plied on different routes. Most of the wagons are without doors and window glasses, but nobody bothers to check this malpractice.
The police was using its powers by blocking the motorcyclists in various streets just for "Jagga" purposes.
To make sure the smooth flow of traffic, the citizens demanded that the policemen should be deputed at all road crossings and junctions with strict instructions to efficiently control the traffic for avoiding traffic jams in the city.
They further demanded of Sialkot Traffic Police authorities to take immediate step for checking licences and underage and handicapped drivers to ensure supremacy of the traffic laws.
