'NGOs must work on long-term basis for rehabilitation'

Non-Governmental Organisations (NGOs), public and private institutions will have to work on a long-term basis to get the task of the rehabilitation of earthquake survivors, Nazim City District Government Lahore Mian Amir Mahmmod said here on Sunday while despatching relief goods to the affected areas.
He said that the city government has so far despatched 660 truckloads of relief goods including 234 trucks of eatable items, 274 trucks of tents, 123 trucks of tents, blankets and 29 trucks of medicines.
The Nazim praised the citizens for their generous contribution to help-out the victims of the earthquake. He also appreciated the employees of the city government for their hard-work to collect donations and despatch them towards the affected areas.
