Five unidentified people travelling in a bus looted the passengers on board near Chiraghabad on Faisalabad-Jhang road and managed to flee along with the cash and valuables worth one million rupees.
According to details, Faisalabad-bound bus JA-5223, carrying over 50 passengers was on its way from Jhang, when reached near Chiraghabad, five passengers stood up and pulled out pistols and forcibly stopped the bus and started looting other passengers.
They snatched mobiles, valuables and cash of Rs 1 million and managed to flee. The looters are still at large, however, Nawan Lahore Police has registered the case and investigation is under way.
In another incident, four armed people wearing police uniform snatched a pickup FSH-3457 from Muhammad Akhtar near Mamun Kanjan at gun point, when he was going to lift relief goods from a camp.
According to reports, Muhammad Akhtar and other three people were going to Mamun Kanjan on a pickup from Faisalabad, when reached near Khuldari Stop, a Police van was parked in the middle of the road, while four people wearing uniform of police arrested all of them and snatched away the pickup including cash of Rs 500 from them.
Tarkhani Police have registered a case and searching fake policemen including mysterious police van. Meanwhile, five armed men from driver Liaqat Ali near a village Chak 284-GB snatched a wagon FSC-9331, which was going to Toba Tek Singh, in third incident.
According to another report, five alleged robbers were held after a brief encounter with factory area police, here late Saturday, near Abdullah Colony. Police claimed that they recovered three pistols, mobile phones and a gun from their possession. It was also reported that three people fled away from the spot.
