To facilitate the importers, the Central Board of Revenue (CBR) has abolished 2 percent penal surcharge on goods removed from the warehouses between November 15, 2005 and December 31, 2005.
Meanwhile, the CBR has also extended the period during which goods could remain in the warehouse up to December 31, 2005. The CBR has used its powers under section 98 of Customs Act, 1969 to notify the decision through SRO(I)/2003 issued here on Monday.
