The by-elections in LA-40 Kashmir Valley-6 has been postponed following the devastating October 8 earthquake in Azad Kashmir. This was stated by AJK Chief Election Commissioner (CEC) Chief Justice Riaz Akhtar Chaudhry while talking to APP here on Tuesday.
The CEC said that seat was lying vacant due to the sad demise of MLA Abdul Waheed Khan in the recent earthquake.
He said the situation created after the earthquake and keeping in view the massive devastation in AJK, the elections on this seat has been postponed till further orders.
About the registration of votes, he said that work was going on before the earthquake with the help of Pakistan Army.
