The Karachi Port handled 104,981 tonnes of cargo including 81,128 tonnes import and 23,853 tonnes export cargo including 2,710 containers during last 24 hours ending at 0700 hours on Saturday.
The cargo comprised of 80,453 tonnes dry cargo including 51,429 tonnes general cargo; 4,011 tonnes fertiliser; 4,079 tonnes rice; 12,695 tonnes coal; 1,774 tonnes rock phosphate; 6,465 tonnes iron scrap and 24,528 tonnes oil/Liquid cargo.
Ten ships namely Kota Teguh, Apl Orchid, YM Moon, Scotia, Giada-D, Sagamore, Lalazar, Pretty Flourish, Bolan and Golden Fareast sailed out to sea during the report period.
Seven vessels viz Sagamore, MT Swat, Neptune Ace, Wan Hai-265, Oriental Salvia, Suez Express and African Leopard are currently at the berths.
Five ships namely Teen, Viktor Talalikhin, Wan Hai-265, African Leopard and Santa Fe expected to sail on Saturday, while two vessels viz MT Swat and Corinthiakos expected to sail on Sunday.
Five vessel viz MT Shalamar, Satha Bhum, Kota Jasa, Cape Scott and Zuljalal due to arrive on Saturday, while two ships namely Berana and Maersk Alaska are due to arrive on Sunday.
Three ships namely Global Prosperity, Yang Jiang He and Parinda Naree are due to arrive on Monday.
The cargo comprised of 43,337 tonnes HSD oil; 717 tonnes edible oil; 11,076 tonnes wheat; 5,626 tonnes chemicals; 8,075 tonnes coke and 21,233 tonnes containerised cargo.
Four ships namely MV Matamba, Al-Manakh, Mare Gallicum and Pacific Sound sailed out to sea during last 24 hours.
A total of four vessels viz Sports Queen, Multan, Chitral and Nurvo Union are currently at the outer anchorage.
