Brazilian sugar vessels lineup falls

The lineup of vessels to load sugar in Brazilian ports fell to 33 from 46 last week, shipping agent Williams said. In a weekly report, it said 12 vessels were lined up in the southern port of Santos, down from 20 last week. In Paranagua, there were 5 vessels against 4 last week.
The north-east sugar cane harvest began later than usual in early October after seven months of drought and is lagging 30 percent compared with last year. The centre-south harvest, which accounts for 85 percent of national output, is due to end in November.
Santos accounted for 43 percent of sugar tonnage being loaded in the ports of South America's largest country.
