Minister of State for Information Technology, Ali Asjad Malhi has said that present government is trying its best for the promotion of information technology (IT) and telecommunication and various incentives have been provided for investment in the IT sector.
He was addressing the inaugural session of two-day conference on "Telecom and IT Asia 2005" and an IT exhibition here on Tuesday. The event was organised by Development Times in collaboration with Institute of Telecommunication Engineers Pakistan (INSTEP).
The minister said that telecommunication sector offers conducive environment for investment by both local and foreign investors. He said the government is also providing necessary facilities for training of manpower.
Chairman Organising Committee, Mian Fazal Ahmad in his welcome address said that objective of the conference and exhibition is to provide opportunities of interaction between the private and public sector companies.
Later in the technical sessions experts presented papers on investment in telecommunication and IT in Pakistan.
Earlier, Mian Muhammad Javed President Institute of Telecommunication Engineer Pakistan presented keynote address.
