The groundbreaking ceremony of Expo Centre Lahore would be held in December this year, official sources told Business Recorder here on Sunday.
The proposed Expo Centre, having facilities of hotel, IT Tower, and shopping arcade, would be completed at a cost of Rs 1.5 billion in December 2006, they added.
The expo-centre would be developed on 400 kanals of land to provide facilities of exhibition to the domestic and international business community to display their products.
The industrial exhibitions are not only playing fundamental role in the promotion of trade globally but also help in introducing different products in different countries as well as providing wide opportunities to the business community to develop trade relations with each other.
In addition to this, the Punjab government was making adequate efforts to promote agro-based industries and dairy development in the province. The step has been taken to provide agricultural tools to farmers and cultivators on inexpensive rates enabling them to use modern implements for enhancing per acre yield.
The present regime has also accorded its special attention on resolving the financial problems of "SMEs and Craftsmen" on top priority basis.
Special attention has also been focused on for enhancing the limit of industrial loans, aimed at enabling the SMEs and other interested persons to upgrade their units and establish new industrial projects without any hindrance.
The liberal industrial policy has been introduced for the fulfilment of the government's commitments, which would open new era of industrial development and help in scaling-down the unemployment graph in the province, the sources added.
