The Rawalpindi Chamber of Commerce and Industry (RCCI) and the Customs Department have formed joint advisory committees to help business community in matters related to taxation and other tax related issues.
The agreement to this context came during a meeting between the RCCI senior executives and officials of the Collectorate of Customs, Rawalpindi.
The meeting was chaired by RCCI President Jalil Ahmed Malik while Collector Customs Ahmed Dildar led officials of the Customs Department. Others who attended the meeting were RCCI SVP Syed Mushtaq Ali Shah, former president Najam Rehan and members of RCCI Mian Ateeq, Mian Manzoor, and Fazlur Rehman, while Additional Collector Airport Dr Naeem, Additional Collector Northern Areas Qurban Ali were also present in the meeting.
Praising the co-operation being rendered by Customs Department towards business community of Rawalpindi, the RCCI chief said that business community had problems in customs clearing but the co-operation of Customs Department has resolved this problem and provided them all possible help in this regard. "We are sure that this co-operation from the Customs Department would continue", he added.
He said the Chamber is acting as a bridge between business community and the government and it is the forum highlighting the problems the business community is facing. "The business community is coming to Chamber with the hope that this organisation would raise the issues with the government and help resolve these issues they are confronting with", he added.
Malik said these advisory committees would help resolve problems of the business community regarding the tax issues, besides bridging gap between the business community and three customs department.
Speaking on the occasion, Collector Customs Ahmed Dildar thanked the RCCI executives and said that the role of RCCI is very high in community development. He assured RCCI leaders that the customs department will be ready to resolve problems of the business community.
