North Arabian Sea will become a venue of joint Pak-Saudi naval exercise Naseem Al Bahr-VIII, for which task group of Royal Saudi Naval Forces (RSNF) ships arrived on Monday morning at the Karachi port.
The exercise will be conducted from November 28 till December 15, 2005. The RSNF contingent is being led by Commander Task Force4 Rear Admiral Sammi bin Mansoor Ali Rafi. The aim of this exercise is to enhance level of inter-operability between two brotherly navies.
During the exercise, a large number of RSNF and PM units, including most modern Destroyers, Frigates, Missile Corvettes, Tankers, Mine Hunters, Naval Aviation Units and Special Services Group will participate in multi-dimensional activities.
The opening brief of Naseem al Bahr-VIII was held at Pakistan Navy Tactical School, PN dockyard where modalities of planning of harbour phase activities were worked out. The sea phase of the exercise will begin in the first week of December. Lastly, the debrief session will be held to pinpoint strengths and weaknesses.
