The Sindh High Court on Tuesday granted bail to a suspended police officer in fake police recruitment case. Acting DSP, Syed Rashid Iqbal, in-charge of DSP Headquarters in SRP Gulshan base-II, along with other, is charged with appointing police constables on fake appointment letters by taking Rs 35,000 to 40,000 each from them in 2003.
Anti Corruption Establishment lodged case against them in October 2005. Arguing on bail application, his counsels Ilyas Khan and Mohammad Farooq submitted that the applicant was falsely implicated in the case as no evidence was found against him.
They said no prosecution witness had directly involved the applicant in the case and sought his release on bail, as case needed further inquiry. SHC's single bench comprising Justice Zia Pervaiz after hearing the case ordered to release the applicant on bail with surety of Rs 500,000.
