District Co-ordination Officer (DCO) Hyderabad, Muhammad Hussain Syed who is also the President of Hilal-e-Ahmar Hyderabad has announced the establishment of Institute of Child Care (ICC) on the pattern of ICC Karachi at the open space of Hilal-e-Ahmar Hospital Latifabad.
The institute will have capacity to provide medical facilities to children of Hyderabad City and surrounding areas of the district.
M.H. Syed made this announcement while laying the foundation stone of paediatric ward at Hilal-e-Ahmar Hospital Latifabad here and female ward at Muhammadi Charitable Hospital, Latifabad No 5 on Tuesday night.
The District Co-ordination Officer said the management of Hilal-e-Ahmar Hyderabad has been directed to prepare a feasibility report of Institute of Child Care by the end of this financial year, so that execution of this unique institute could be started from next financial year.
Earlier, the District Co-ordination Officer Hyderabad also laid foundation stone of female ward at Muhammadi Charitable Hospital Latifabad Unit No 5. which is also being constructed with financial assistance of Rs 2.2 million from district government Hyderabad under SDSSP.
Speaking on the occasion, the District Co-ordination Officer Hyderabad said out of an estimated amount of Rs 2.8 million, the district government would provide Rs 2.2 million for civic works while additional amount of Rs 1 million would also be provided to the management for purchase of equipment under SDSSP.
He asked the management of the hospital to form a technical committee to supervise the construction work and ensure that it should be completed within eight months, Taluka Nazim Latifabad Sabir Hussain Kaimkhani, Chairman Hilal-e-Ahmar Dr Farooque Memon, honorary secretary, Muhammadi Charitable Hospital, Fasihul Hasnain Shah, renowned educationist Hameed Sindhi, Professor Idrees Kaimkhani, EDO (R) Abdul Sattar, EDO Finance and Planning Syed Sikandar Hussain Shah, DO Building Akhtár Dawach, DO Planning Islamuddin Abbasi, Director Sericulture Dr Abid Hussain, officers and elite were present on the occasion.
