The Nasdaq clung to narrow gains, helped by semiconductor shares.
The Dow Jones industrial average was down 12.65 points, or 0.12 percent, at 10,875.51. The Standard & Poor's 500 Index was down 1.74 points, or 0.14 percent, at 1,255.74. The technology-laced Nasdaq Composite Index was up 4.80 points, or 0.21 percent, at 2,237.51.
