Federal Minister for Food, Agriculture and Livestock, Sikandar Hayat Khan Bosan has said the government is trying its level best for the promotion of farming sector in the country.
In a statement here on Saturday, the minister said the farmers would be provided with sufficient stock of fertilisers to get the maximum yield of crops.
The minister said urea was being imported for the purpose and a ship carrying 38,500 tons of urea had arrived at Karachi Port on Friday. Six more ships carrying 206,000 tons of urea were expected to arrive at Karachi up to December 26, he added.
Bosan added that Karachi Port Trust and Railways authorities had made the necessary arrangements for expeditious dispatch of urea to up country destinations.
