Pakistan-Afghanistan border was reopened here on Saturday after successful negotiations between the border security authorities of both countries, Frontier Corps Commandant Colonel Nasrullah Niazi said.
He said the Afghan authorities admitted their fault and regretted the incident in which Afghan forces kidnapped a FC Subedar from Pakistani area along the Pak-Afghan border on Thursday last.
"They have also assured us that no such incident would happen in future", Colonel Niazi said adding they reopened the border following this assurance and regret by Afghan authorities over the incident.
He, however, said the security would remain tighten along the border and only people with proper travelling documents would be allowed to cross the border. Those using non-traditional ways would be dealt strictly, he warned.
