Federal Health Minister Muhammad Naseer Khan has said that about 0.6 million people had so far been immunised against measles and tetanus in the quake affected areas.
In an interview, the minister said the government, with the assistance of Unicef and WHO, was providing injections and medicines to pneumonia patients.
He said that the weather had changed suddenly and temperature had dropped to minus at many places. "First of all, we want to give winterised tents to people and also want to give blankets and other warm sheets," he added.
"Every single life is precious but we have to see the situation. Most of the people don't have their houses. They are injured. We are giving children supplements of vitamin-A," he added.
The Minister disclosed that he was visiting the affected areas again along with a big caravan to help the people in distress.
