The spiritual head of Ismaili community, Prince Karim Aga Khan, has said that his family and the Aga Khan Development network would continue to play their role towards progress and development of Pakistan.
He was speaking at a luncheon hosted in his honour by Sindh Chief Minister, Dr Arbab Ghulam Rahim, at Chief Minister's House here on Sunday.
The lunch was also attended by Acting President, Muhammadmian Soomro, Sindh Governor, Dr Ishrat-ul-Ebad Khan, Chief Minister of Balochistan, Jam Muhammad Yousuf, Speaker Sindh Assembly, Syed Muzaffar Hussein Shah, Chief Justice Sindh High Court, Justice Sabihuddin, provincial ministers, MPAs, high officials and members of the Ismaili community.
Aga Khan said his family had been living in Sindh for centuries and considers serving the people of this area as their responsibility. "We want to see a better living standard and human development in Pakistan as life is important for every citizen," he added. Aga Khan said, "we want to move ahead with development in every sphere of life." He stated that Pakistan was a great country and the Aga Khan Foundation had launched a comprehensive programme and socio-economic uplift.
Age Khan pointed out that health and education are two important areas in which headway is being made. This is a prerequisite for the development and prosperity of any country.
