A member of the Lahore High Court Bar Association (LHCBA) has filed a petition before the Lahore High Court (LHC) praying to direct the respondent government to cease all those copies of the Holy Quran in which a publishing company have changed the names of some Surahs of Holy Quran.
The petitioner, M.D. Tahir also prayed to the court to direct the respondent government to take strict action against the responsible persons.
The petitioner contended that the respondent Qudratullah Company has changed the names of Surah Bani Israel and others. It was contended that this action of the respondent company has injured the feelings of the petitioner and other Muslims.
HEARING PUT OFF A local civil judge adjourned the proceedings in a petition, when the petitioner Chairman Pakistan People's Movement sought time to amend his petition.
The petitioner, Muhammad Ishfaq Chaudhry prayed to the court to declare that President in uniform is in the larger interest of the country.
However, the court put off the proceedings without fixing next date of hearing.
