Scholars and representatives of research institutes and industry have recommended that all OIC countries, in their respective countries, should promote university-based research and development activities for advancement of socio-economic conditions.
The scholars said that the OIC countries should contribute towards establishment of a reserve fund at the OIC Headquarters for providing assistance to concerned universities and institutions for the purpose of research and development.
They also recommended to establish an inventors' pool, under the aegis of Comsetech, for development of new inventions in private sectors in Pakistan.
There was consensus of opinion among the participating scientists that future conferences should be held on rotation basis in all OIC countries, since the present experiment has proved very productive and successful.
The concluding session was attended by a large number of research scholars from Syria, Malaysia, Tunisia, Iran, Egypt, Indonesia, Sudan, Saudi Arabia, and Afghanistan. The participants also included representatives from Patent Offices, corporate offices, Attorneys and Consultant and Universities inventor association research centres. The participants from Pakistan were from IBA, HEJ, and University of Sindh.
All participants approved the recommendations presented by the experts' committee unanimously.
Sindh University Vice Chancellor, chief patron of the Advisory Board of the organising committee of the workshop, expressed his appreciation and hoped that such workshops would help in encouraging research scholars in Muslim countries.
