An international book fair will be held in the metropolis from December 7. This was announced by the Convener of the Managing Committee, Ameena Saiyid and Chairman of the Pakistan Publishers and Booksellers Association (PPBA) Aziz Khalid, while addressing a news conference here on Monday.
They said that a total of 68 publishers will participate in the event. 41 of these are from Pakistan, 23 from India, three from United Kingdom and one from the United States.
In all, 125 stalls would be set up at the fair which will be opened for public from December 8 to 11 at Hall-4 of the Karachi Expo Centre from 10 am to 9 pm.
Sindh Minister for Education and Literacy, Dr Hamida Khuhro will be the chief guest at the inaugural ceremony to be held on December 7.
Dr Romila Thapar, Emeritus Professor of History at Jawaharlal Nehru University Delhi, will also deliver a talk on the occasion.
