At least 15 people have been killed and several others injured as students of a local Madressah clashed with suspected robbers in North Waziristan, a TV channel reported on Wednesday.
The fighting started on Tuesday after some students of a local religious seminary refused to give money to robbers who had set up blocked road near Miran Shah, the headquarters of North Waziristan tribal area, TV channel reported. There was no official word on the incident.
Quoting official sources and witnesses the TV reported that five local Taleban and two robbers of a local Hakim Khan group died when they exchanged fire.
Later students surrounded houses of those belonging to Hakim Khan group, which led to exchange of firing once again.
TV reported that eight more members of Hakim Khan group died in the second clash. It reported that students burnt houses of the group after forcing women and children to leave houses.
