Punjab University vice-chancellor Arshad Mahmood inaugurated the extension block of University Health Centre here on Wednesday.
Speaking on the occasion, Arshad said that education and health sectors run parallel in the development of the country and an effective healthcare would lead to a better educational system. He said an earthquake has doubled the responsibilities of doctors to help quake victims overcome the traumatic conditions.
He appreciated Chief Medical Officer Dr Farasat Ali Syed and his staff in providing quality healthcare to the university employees and students. He said university would set up a full-fledged hospital and a constituent medical college in near future.
Earlier in his welcome address Dr Farasat Ali Syed said that doctors and paramedical staff are being trained in different hospitals to improve their professional skills.
