The Water and Sanitation Agency (Wasa), Faisalabad, with the help of the government of Japan has launched a mega water supply project to the tune of Rs 2.515 billion for providing 20 million gallons more water per day to 0.4 million citizens of eastern part of this industrial city.
Wasa Managing Driector Raas Masood said the necessary machinery and water supply pipes had been reached Karachi and are being shifting to Faisalabad, adding that civic amenities would improve after the completion of the Japan-funded water supply project.
He hoped that this project will be completed within next five or six months. He also said that Wasa has also launched other three projects at an estimated cost of Rs 176 million.
