The Islamabad Electric Supply Company (Iesco) has decided to disconnect the electric connections of defaulting government and semi-government departments and autonomous bodies under federal government from January 1, 2006.
It has advised all concerned departments to clear their electricity dues latest by December 31, 2005 in their own interest to avoid disconnection of electricity supply.
According to a Wapda press release, departments having dues more than Rs 1 million, including late payment surcharge (LPS) up to November 2005 are GE Services Rawalpindi, hospitals under Federal Government Islamabad, Ministry of Education, Ministry of Haj & Auqaf, Ministry of Railway, Ministry of Kashmir & Northern Areas, Ministry of Health, Income Tax, PWD, Chief Commissioner, Islamabad, CDA, Balochistan House, Punjab Police, Health District Government, PTCL, Cantt Board Rawalpindi, Cantt Board Chaklala, TMA Rawalpindi, Wasa Rawalpindi and, Punjab Transport System.
