Minister of State for Overseas Pakistanis and ruling PML central Information Secretary Senator Tariq Azeem has said the PML President Chaudhry Shujaat Hussain enjoyed support of clear majority of the party members.
In an interview he dismissed claims of forward block and said their total strength was four or five.
He said the block had provided a fake list of 25 members. Most of the members disowned their signatures, and made it clear they had no complaints against the party leadership. He said 1,500 members of PML general council had duly elected Chaudhry Shujaat Hussain as party President unanimously on May 12, 2004.
Ruling out any change in the PML leadership, Tariq Azeem said next election of the party President was scheduled in August next year. He termed differences in the party as part of political process.
