The Jamhoori Watan Party (JWP) has planned to raise voice against the proposed military operation in Balochistan from the platforms of the Alliance for Restoration of Democracy (ARD) and PONM, as the government is preparing for a full-scale military operation in Balochistan to have a complete control over Baloch resources.
This was stated by JWP Deputy Secretary-General Rauf Khan Sasoli, while briefing the newspersons on phone.
He said the already existed gulf and mistrust between Islamabad and Baloch people was widening day by day with the aggressive designs and actions of the government and everybody could understand their repercussions and results.
The JWP leader said that Bugtis were not involved in terrorism and subversive activities, but the government wanted to eliminate them in the guise of operation against the terrorists.
He said that Nawab Akbar Bugti had informed the press that ministers were making press statements that operation was going on against the terrorists, dacoits and rebels, but in fact it was all to cover the already launched military operations against Baloch people in different areas of the province.
He said the government now was making preparations for a full-scale operation, adding the ongoing action of paramilitary forces in Naushki, Kharan, Mustung, Mungochar and other areas was a part of this operation.
The JWP leader said some 300 workers and activists of Baloch parties had been arrested recently, while some 200 persons arrested in the past, languishing in torture cells.
He said all these efforts were to eliminate workers and their political leadership and discourage the Baloch population in general so that they could give up their national struggle for their rights and control their resources.
He also said the government's loot and plunder of natural resources continued in Dera Bugti while plans were there to repeat that in Kohlu and Gwadar.
He said that Gwadar as an international modern port with all facilities and obviously like the past Balochs would not get anything from the revenue of the port and other projects. They, however, are facing ejectment from Gwadar and adjacent areas.
The JWP leader said contrary to that they would be deprived of its land and to be reduced to a minority by a mass influx of outsiders who would permanently upset the demography of Balochistan.
When asked about the prevailing situation in Dera Bugti, he said that forces were with heavy weapons in the town and obviously it was not for any prosperity and development, but for operation.
The JWP leader said that such preparations were made in March last and at that time the government and ministers also kept harping that no operation would be launched, but what happened later.
He said that his house was attacked with artillery shells and rockets and other modern weapons, adding that over 600 different kinds of shells were also lobbed on different parts of his house and Hindus locality.
He said that over 60 people, including 33 Hindus were killed in the shelling, adding that heavy deployment of Rangers was made in Dera Bugti district on the provincial border with Sindh and in some actions 50 to 60 innocent tribesmen were arrested.
He said that FC officials and civil district officers threatened the Hindus that the previous incident (March, 17,2005) did not teach them any lesson and should leave the area to save themselves and such incident could also recur in future.
He said that some Hindu families after official threats had also migrated from the district.
Commenting on the claim of federal interior minister about the presence of "Farari" (rebel) camps, he said the federal minister also identified one of these camps in the area of another federal minister belonging to PML in Shoran, Bolan.
He said now it was yet to be seen whether any action was to be taken against that camp in the area of the federal minister or not.
