Sindh Health Minister Shabbir Ahmed Qaimkhani on Saturday inaugurated the 50-bed hospital in Shah Faisal Colony and said the people, who had to approach distanced Jinnah and Civil hospitals for medical treatment, will now have the medical facility in their area.
"The present government is determined to provide better medical facilities to people at their doorstep", he said while speaking as chief guest at the hospital opening in Shah Faisal Town No 1.
It will be a complete hospital having 3 operation theatres, gynae and children wards, a modern x-ray unit, ultra sound and dental clinics, medical ward and EPI Center, the health minister said.
He said today a big project is being launched, construction of whose building was started in 1998 and completed in June 2004 at a cost of Rs 211.8 million.
Qaimkhani said that since then the building was lying unused and even the hospital SNE had not been approved as yet.
But, he said, the health department has posted doctors and paramedical staff on deputation, medicines provided in adequate quantities and modern x-ray and other necessary equipment also made available.
Health minister said it will be a model hospital in future benefiting Shah Faisal Colony and adjoining areas.
