KESC-CEO Frank Scherschmidt said local industries were key customers and future plans of the power utility would be prepared to provide priority services to them for the economic development of the country.
According to press release, Scherschmidt was talking to the Site Association Chairman, Dr Mirza Ikhtiar Baig, who called on him at the KESC Head Office on Saturday to welcome the new management on behalf of the 3000 industrial consumers of the Sindh Industrial Trading Estate.
The KESC CEO explained to the SAI Chairman that foundations were being laid for going to the key customers by the KESC to find out regarding the quality of service being extended to them on periodic bases, instead of customer making rounds of the electricity offices with complaints. He said that the new management understands that an annual increase of 7 percent in power demand means that in 10 years the demand would double so the electric supply company would also need to double itself vis-à-vis men, material and network. "We would plan the future KESC on those lines", the KESC-CEO added.
The Site Association chairman informed that the Site industrial area was one of the biggest customers of the KESC, the transmission and distribution losses were also according to the international standards to 6 percent.
Besides, many industrial applications for power load were pending with KESC, due to delay in getting connections, therefore these industries were planning self-generation.
Baig also requested the KESC-CEO to include a member of the Site Association on the Review Committee for out of court settlement for resolution of disputed bills from the industrial areas, press release concluded.-PR
