Speaker National Assembly Choudary Amir Hussain has said that the government is mobilising huge funds on banishing the backwardness and poverty from the country on top priority basis.
Addressing a delegation belonging to Bujwat area on Sunday afternoon at the local civil rest house, he added that the main objective of the government was to develop backward and ignored areas aimed at brining these areas at par with the developed parts of the country.
The NA Speaker said that construction work on the River Tavi bridge costing Rs 220 million was in full swing and its completion would help link the 85 villages of Bujwat area with the district headquarter and other parts of the country. Besides, huge funds were being spent on various public welfare projects in Bujwat area aimed at bringing the area at par with the developed parts of Sialkot district, he added.
INDUSTRIAL UNITS: Choudary Amir Hussain said that completion of the bridge over the River Tavi would open new horizons of prosperity and development while the business community of Sialkot would be able to establish its small industrial units in the area. He stressed upon the local businessmen to consider establishing small and cottage industries in Bujwat area for generating the employment opportunities for the local population.
The large-scale setting up of industries in such areas would not only help in reducing unemployment graph but also support in minimising the rural migration towards cities, he added.
