The differences in the ranks of Muttahida Majlis-i-Amal (MMA) have appeared quite visible and particularly among its top leaders Qazi Hussain Ahmed, Amir of Jamaat Islami, and Maulana Fazlur Rehman, head of the Jamiat Ulema-i-Islam.
The JUI-F Majlis-i-Shoora has recommended to the MMA to allow NWFP Chief Minister Akram Durrani to participate in the National Security Council meeting, secretary general Maulana Abdul Ghafoor Haidery said.
He stated this while briefing the media after two hour-long Shoora meeting here on Thursday.
Maulana Fazlur Rehman presided over the meeting while Maulana Amjad Ali Khan and Maulana Mujibullah were present among other members.
Ghafoor Haidery said that the NWFP would benefit largely with the participation of Akram Durrani in the NSC meeting and his party would take up the issue in the next MMA meeting.
He expressed the hope that MMA supreme council would consider the issue with all aspects and allow Durrani to participate in the NSC meeting.
Replying a question, Haidery said JUI-F was against launching any movement against one man, rather it would support such move against dictatorship for which all opposition parties could be gathered at a single platform.
