Punjab University vice-chancellor, Arshad Mahmood distributed cash prizes of Rs 110,000 among the students of College of Environmental Sciences for showing outstanding performance for cleaner environment.
Speaking on the occasion, Arshad said environmental sciences had gained importance in recent years due to increasing pollution. Stressing the need for judicious use of natural resources he said environment experts were crucial for the development of agriculture and industry.
Referring to the demand of Dr Iftikhar Baloch pertaining to allocation of more land for lab, the VC announced that requisite piece of land would be allocated.
