The first batch of Pakistan Army contingent to participate in the United Nations Mission in Liberia left here Friday night, said an Inter Services Public Relations (ISPR) press release.
It said that Commandant Central Ordnance Depot, Brigadier Arshad Najeeb Alvi, bade farewell to the departing troops at Quaid-e-Azam International Airport.
The ISPR press release further stated that this group of 300 troops comprising Infantry, Engineers and Medical Corps would form the Pakistani contingent in the mission area.
It was pointed out that Pakistan is one of the largest troops contributing country in the United Nations Peace Missions and earned a high degree of respect as proficient and dedicated blue helmets working for the cause of global peace.
