The "Sustainable Livelihood for Barani Areas Project" is being launched with the active co-operation of Asian Development Bank (ADB) shortly in tehsil Pasrur of Sialkot district.
Official sources on Saturday told Business Recorder here that under the project special attention would be focused on banishing poverty, improvement of economic condition of farmers, income would be generated through cottage industries of women folk, small farmers, landless farmers in Barani areas.
Sources said that a large number of farmers belonging to Barani areas would be benefited of this project in the Punjab. The village level farmers training programme was being started to make the farmer aware of the modern production technology in tehsil Pasrur.
Later, a comprehensive training programme under the project would be conducted at district level for disseminating production technology among the farmers sources added.
