Advisor to the Prime Minister on Finance, Revenue and Economic Affairs Dr Salman Shah said that the chief ministers of the four provinces had given mandate to President General Pervez Musharraf for the decision of the award and it would be announced shortly.
He stated this while talking to newsmen after inaugurating indigenously produced materials exhibition at a local hotel here on Sunday.
He added that the four chief ministers had given mandate to the President and presented viewpoints of their respective provinces to him on the NFC award.
The President, he said would call the chief ministers and announce the National Finance Commission Award soon.
Replying to a question about the Kalabagh Dam, the Advisor to the Prime Minister on Finance said that there was no problem of funding for the project.
"Once a political consensus is evolved and a decision is made by the government, "we will also tap the international capital market for funding for the project".
He termed the Kalabagh Dam a viable project for the benefit of the country.
Dr Shah said that the targets of industrial growth would be achieved during the current financial year as the growth target of the sector was on track.
Earlier, Dr Salman Shah inaugurated an exhibition of indigenously produced materials and appreciated the quality of the products displayed in the exhibition.
The exhibition has been organised by Pakistan Material Society in collaboration with Pakistan Science Foundation.
The President of P-MRS and member Fuel Cycle of PAEC, Dr Khalil Ahmed, Brigadier Zaffar Ahmed of NESCOM, scientists, researchers and representatives of various industries of indigenously produced materials were also present on the occasion.
The Pakistan Material Research Society (P-MRS) is also organising an international seminar and workshop on "High temper materials for industry and development of indigenous research capability" from December 19-20 here at Margla Hotel.
The event is being held in collaboration with Pakistan Science Foundation and European Technology Development, UK.
The experts of international repute shall deliver specialised lectures in the seminar on the relevant subjects.
The seminar is expected to be attended by a large number of local materials engineers/scientists engaged in the development and use of conventions as well as advanced materials.
It may be added that P-MRS is a registered society with the government of Pakistan under society's Act XXI and being run by eminent professionals from different private and public sector organisations in the field of metallurgy and materials science in Pakistan.
