Muttahida Majlis-i-Amal (MMA) chief Qazi Hussain Ahmed has asked the government to convene Council of Common Interests (CCI) meeting to take the provinces into confidence on the issue of construction of new dams.
"Whatever the decision is taken in the Council meeting, the MMA will co-operate with the government", he said while talking to newsmen after attending a Jamaat-i-Islami workers meeting at Mansura here on Sunday.
Answering a question, he said the MMA had never opposed presentation of reports on dams in the parliament. Qazi also said: "President Musharraf will be removed before 2007 through an agitation, which will be launched from the platform of a combined opposition, which will come into being very soon."
To a question about the participation of Opposition Leader Maulana Fazl-ur-Rehman in the National Security Council meeting, Qazi Hussain said it will be decided in MMA's meeting to be held on Monday.
