Ministry for woman development has approved three pilot projects worth Rs 110.77 million under the umbrella of National Fund for Advancement of Rural Woman.
A well-placed source told Business Recorder here on Tuesday, the project, Jafakash Aurat, will focus on economic empowerment of rural women, supporting skill and micro-enterprise development amongst Gwadar and Chitral women.
He said 23,000 rural women will be the direct beneficiaries whereas, 74,000 houses will be indirectly benefit from the project.
The source said out of Rs 110.77 million, Rs 84.018 million will be provided by the government; whereas Rs 26.752 million will be contributed by the women development ministry, which would be the executing agency.
The project would be launched on pilot basis in Sheikhupura, Gujranwala, Gwadar and Chitral for 40 months.
The source further said the government has allocated Rs 19.560 million for construction of crisis centres and Rs 1.5 million would be spent during the current financial year. He said the ministry has appointed 11 employees for Islamabad crisis centre that includes law officers, social counsellors and project managers.
