All the Pakistan Telecommunication Company Limited (PTCL) employees would be promoted in next cadre, who had completed 12 years in one cadre, and marriage grant for employees' daughters has been increased from Rs 30,000 to Rs 50,000.
Federal Minister for Information Technology Owais Ahmed Khan Leghari has assured this at a meeting with Pak Telecom Employee Union (CBA) leaders Ziauddin (President), Zulfikar Sanghi (Chairman), Waseem Mairaj (Vice Chairman) Ehsan Raja, Kanwar Ata Jilani and Saif-uddin Qureshi in Islamabad.
The minister said he had approved this package, adding under this new package now bonus would be paid with the January salary, while next cadre promotion would be made by the Regional General Managers within a month.
The PTCL would pay Rs 0.2 million in case of on-duty death, and Rs 10,000 would be paid for burial instead of Rs 5000, he added.
He said loans up to Rs 0.1 million would be written off to the widow, adding the education grant was also increased and preference in employment would be given to the sons of deceased dependent sons.
The minister assured that daily wagers would be removed from the service and 1,900 workers of the PTCL foundation would not be removed, however, medical allowance issue was still under consideration.
