US cocoa futures ended in positive territory Tuesday, reversing early weakness amid light industry and speculative buying in line with recovering cocoa prices in London, traders said.
The New York Board of Trade's (NYBOT) active March cocoa contract rose $9, or 0.6 percent, to settle at $1,448 a tonne, having dealt from $1,427 to $1,454. May cocoa likewise gained $9 to end at $1,468 a tonne, while longer-dated contracts finished up $9 to $11.
NYBOT trading volume in cocoa futures reached an estimated 7,957 contracts.
