Engineering Development Board (EDB) of the industries ministry will hold an exhibition "Engineering Pakistan" in Lahore from March 20 to 22, 2006 to identify star performers for further upgradation and hand carrying under Pakistan Engineering Exports Enhancement & Competitiveness Scheme (PEEECS).
EDB sources told Business Recorder here on Thursday that it would be a gathering of the 250 finest engineering companies of Pakistan under one roof.
A ten member project team has been formed consisting Javed Majeed, Secretary Industry Punjab, Razzak Ahmed, Chairman Paapam, Sohail Lashari, Lahore Chamber of Commerce and Industry, representatives of private sector - Khawar Rafiq, Ahsan Butt, Kasier Naeem, Sh. Mohd Naseem, Hakim Uddin, A Majid Ghori and banker Fawad Hassan.
The exhibition will be held at the Expo Centre (Fortress Stadium). Two foreign consultants - Dutch and German will advise the participating firms about steps needed for increasing their exports to the target countries.
A high level meeting held here under the chairmanship of the Minister for Industries, Production and Special Initiatives, Jahangir Khan Tareen reviewed the arrangements and instructed EDB to persuade some leading foreign companies to participate in it.
The meeting was attended by Kamran Rausal, Secretary Industries, Waseem Haqqie Chairman and Imtiaz A. Rastger, Vice Chairman, EDB and Nabial Hashmi, Chairman Hanover Committee.
