China believes that Pakistan-India peace process is on right track and the chances of reconciliation between the two long-time rivals are better now than ever before.
These two countries have faced each other with nuclear weapons since 1998, making the region one of the world's key trouble spots. However, their bilateral relations have been getting warmer since last year, according to an analysis released on Thursday by the China's state-run news agency Xinhua.
What eases tension between the two rivals, according to analysers, is the changing world order and change in the security concept. Signs of the peace were the flagging off of the first Srinagar-Muzaffarabad bus service in 57 years.
It is being billed as the biggest confidence-building measure between India and Pakistan. Besides, both sides pledged to not let militant attacks impede the peace process. Both nations were satisfied with the outcome of talks. Momentum for peace process got a boost after the October 8 Kashmir earthquake.
NEW CHAPTER: It started a new chapter in co-operation between the two countries. After the quake, India sent medicines and relief material to quake-hit areas in Pakistan. In response, Pakistan too sent some relief material to the Indian-occupied Kashmir hit by the quake.
Although the peace process is on its way, there is still a lot challenging the two neighbours. The most complex problem is still the Kashmir issue.
