Speakers at Hamdard Naunehal Assembly Karachi Chapter on Thursday urged the nation to follow the principle, given by the father of the nation, Quaid-i-Azam Mohammed Ali Jinnah to remain united on national issues, because united we stand and divided we fall.
The meeting was held under the auspices of Hamdard Foundation Pakistan at a local hotel. Sadia Rashid, President, Hamdard Foundation Pakistan while addressing the meeting said that ideals and concepts of Quaid-i-Azam remind us that we should make the nation aware of the significance and standards of education.
Without acquiring the new knowledge and adopting the international standards of education we could not be able to make progress and to bring prosperity in our nation. With the power of education we could save our freedom and make nation strong and undefeatable, she added.
She said Allama Iqbal gave the concept of Pakistan while Quaid-i-Azam Mohammed Ali Jinnah brought it into being by the force of his dynamics, political acumen, hard labour and determination.
He was the emancipator of subcontinent's Muslims, who led the effective movement of Muslim history and achieved an independent state for Muslims of subcontinent of Indo-Pak.
"Quaid-i-Azam believed in the principle of "live and let live" and gave us a golden principle of "unity, faith and discipline, which reminds us that we should always remain united and organised, she said.
Following his ideals and concepts we should try hard to establish a civilised, tolerable, peaceful and enlightened society, based on Islamic principles, in Pakistan", she maintained.
Speaking on the occasion Hakim Mohammed Usman, Dy. Director Programs Hamdard said that we should make a prominent place in the comity of nations by acquiring knowledge of science and technology. He urged the teachers to teach children to write their own speeches by themselves. He said Hakim Mohammed Said taught me how to write and deliver speech.
"Hakim Mohammed Said was a prolific writer and wrote smooth and beautiful prose. Once he wrote something he did not cut even a single word, as if selective sentences were coming from his brain, he added.
Hakim Usman was of the opinion that Arabic and Persian should be made a part of curricula so that student could understand the terminology of these languages and comprehend the meanings of Holy Quran.
Child speakers Mohammed Khuram, Ramsha Kanwal, Hafiz Hasaan Ahmed Siddiqui, Tatheer Ansari, Mustafa Yousuf and Ans Liaquat also spoke and paid glowing tribute to Quaid-i-Azam.
Besides educationists, teachers and parents, children in a large number attended the function.-PR
