Chairman Senate, Muhammadmian Soomro, emphasised on equipping teachers with training based on modern lines to improve the education standards and to meet contemporary challenges.
He was speaking as a chief guest at 31st convocation ceremony of Preston University on Saturday.
"Teachers groom students, who are legacy of the country," he maintained while adding, with teachers training the faculty members would be in better position to provide good representatives to keep the country's name high in comity of nations.
Moreover, he said the government was taking countless measures to bring higher education at par with international standards.
The introduction of various research-based disciplines and more reception to modern needs and developments would help compete at global level, he added.
Appreciating the students for their excellent performance, Chairman Senate asked them to "keep yourselves update with latest developments taking place around the globe".
Earlier, the Chancellor of the University, Dr Abdul Basit in his welcome address congratulated the students and asked them to get across their services and knowledge to rest of the people for better future of the nation as whole.
A total of 300 successful graduates were awarded with medals and merit certificates in the convocation.
