The chairman of Import and Anti-Smuggling subcommittee of Karachi Chamber of Commerce and Industry (KCCI), Sultan Mahmood, has urged Secretary Ministry of Commerce Syed Asif Shah to provide details pertaining to mild steel structures for imports from India.
In a letter to the Secretary, he said that the federal government had issued SRO (1)/2005 on December 3, 2005 Sr. No 773 pertaining to amendment made by the government in the import policy order 2005 by allowing import of mild steel structures from India.
He urged to provide complete details containing PCT headings, which shall cover mild steel structure and which have been allowed to be imported from India.
Earlier, speaking at a meeting of the subcommittee held recently, he said that the said SRO does not contain details or the harmonised Code numbers of those items, which fall in the category of mild steel.
