The Central Board of Revenue (CBR) has decided to set up a customs station at Khokrapar on Pak-India border. Sources told Business Recorder on Tuesday, the CBR has finalised arrangements for establishing a border customs station at Khokrapar, which would soon be opened for railway passengers.
The CBR is making arrangements for online connectivity with the board's central database. The CBR will use powers of the Customs Act, 1969 to declare Khokrapar as new customs station.
The passenger train connecting Monabao and Khokrapar is likely to be on track next month, as both India and Pakistan agreed to open another transport link to further cement the peace process. India has built a new station at Monabao and workers are rushing to erect the terminal ahead of the inauguration.
