Foreign Office Spokesperson Tasnim Aslam Saturday said that resumption of Khokhrapar-Munabao train service would be a step forward in the peace process between India and Pakistan. Speaking to PTV, she expressed the hope that the service would improve the bilateral ties and help in making progress on more serious issues.
She said during the talks the two sides would work out the technical details of the Khokhrapar-Munabao train service. The talks are scheduled to be held on January 5. Pakistani delegation will be headed by Managing Director of Pakistan Railways. She said Pakistan had completed its preparations for the talks. The railway track and the related infrastructure on Pakistani side was ready.
The delay in resumption of service was from the Indian side, as they needed time to complete their infrastructure, she added. The Spokesperson said the service was in line with the policy of increasing people to people contacts between the two countries and would facilitate travellers.
