The Karachi Port handled 226,691 tonnes of cargo including 139,530 tonnes import and 87,161 tonnes export cargo including 1,924 containers during last 48 hours ending at 0700 hours on Monday.
The cargo comprised of 152,604 tonnes dry cargo including 78,518 tonnes general cargo; 17,954 tonnes fertiliser; 3,346 tonnes rice; 2,324 tonnes cement; 23,291 tonnes coal; 21,382 tonnes rock phosphate; 5,789 tonnes iron scrap and 74,087 tonnes oil/Liquid cargo.
Ten ships namely Mol Asante, Ponl Buenos Aires, Sagamore, Conti Harmony, Gedage Lyras, MT Shalamar, Thor Captain, Sinar Bontang, United Prosperity and Ibn-Al-Moataz sailed out to sea during the report period.
Six vessels viz Ken Unity, Capetan Michalis, Beta Tank II, Kota Jasa, Stella Terza and Sammi Superstars are currently at the berths.
Four ships namely Kota Jasa, MT Khairpur, Emerald and Iran Sattari expected to sail on Monday, while another five vessels viz Tai He, Yang Jiang He, Dubai Fotune, Chrysoulas and Beta Tank II expected to sail on Tuesday.
Four ships namely Marine Champion, Iran Sattari, Yang Jiang He, Kota Jasa and Mol Silver Fern due to arrive on Monday, while seven more vessels viz Apl Pusan, Y M Sun, Kuo Hung, Atlantic Express, Iran Takhti, Le Li and Iran Shahed are due to arrive on Tuesday.
The cargo comprised of 4,000 tonnes edible oil; 8,497 tonnes seeds; 2,404 tonnes jute and 13,957 tonnes containerised cargo.
Four ships namely Bermudian Express, MSC Deila, Oocl Ambition and Gulf Dove sailed out to sea during last 24 hours.
A total of four vessels viz Golden Star, Gemini, Marine Champion and Al-Marwah are currently at the outer anchorage.
Two ships namely MT Al-Marwah and MV Al-Brella due to take berths on Monday.
Four vessels viz MT Olympic, Bahagia, Anette Kosan and CV Sealand Mariner with edible oil, chemicals and containers due to arrive to on Monday, while another ship MV Saratoga is due to arrive to load rice on Tuesday.
