Ukraine cut its seaport barley exports by about 22.6 percent to 112,300 tonnes in December 1 to 20 compared with 145,100 in the same period in November, analysts said on Friday.
ProAgro agriculture consultancy said in a statement Ukraine had also doubled its maize exports to 162,000 tonnes from 76,500 in November 1-20.
Analysts said the country exported 51,400 tonnes of maize to Syria, 36,900 to Tunisia, 31,100 to Libya, 23,900 to Egypt. Ukraine exported barley only to Saudi Arabia so far this month.
UkrAgroConsult said Ukraine was likely to export a total of 5.2 million tonnes of wheat, 4.0 million of barley and 1.9 million of maize in 2005/06.
Ukraine exported 4.3 million tonnes of wheat, 4.3 million of barley and 2.3 million of maize in 2004/05.
